Gifts For Your Favorite Seamstress Or Crafter Or Yourself

October 2009

It’s not too early to be thinking about Christmas gifts, especially if you’re going to order from the internet.  As a sewing and craft enthusiast, I’ve got a plethora of ideas for great gifts… and maybe some hints for my loved onesJ

Any sewing enthusiast is always in need of certain supplies.  Why not put together a gift basket of the most needed things?  Some of the items I can never get enough of are:  Sewing pins and needles, fabric markers, (I go through these like water), Pin cushions and magnets are handy, and an extra set of bobbins is great to have.

Don’t Forget the Men!
Any man would love to have a Clothes Care gift basket.  Fill it with a lint roller, lint shaver, clothes brush and storage bags.  Tuck in a sewing kit, men have emergencies too.

Crafters Love Gift Baskets
If you’re creating a gift basket for a crafter, you can find many fun items on sewing-online.com.  Start with a choice of beautiful ribbons, from woven to metallic, to sheer, and everything in-between.  Wire-edged ribbon is especially fun for crafting.  Add some sequins and beads, some braids and trims, lace or fringe, and your favorite crafter will be enchanted.

For a real practical touch, throw in some Velcro hook and loop tape.  Read my post about 50 Everyday Uses for Velcro.  Any number of Craft tools are a great addition, too.

Quilters Are Special People
An avid quilter can never have enough quilting supplies, form quilting needles, to pins, quilting accessories and quilting rulers.  If your loved-one doesn’t have a rotary cutter and mat, they will adore you for gifting them with a set.

Button it sewing boxes and pin cushions

Did I say basket?  I Meant Sewing Box!

Put all your thoughtful supplies in a cute sewing box and you’ll be a hero!  Sewing-online has a huge selection, and some of the newest fashionable boxes that any seamstress would want to carry anywhere they go.  A craft box would be a great container for the craft supplies you buy.  If your favorite crafter is always on the go, a portable project bag is just the solution.

Say Love With a Gift Basket

The best part about putting together a thoughtful gift basket for your crafty loved-one is that you’ll most likely get a beautiful handmade gift in return, made with just as much love as you’ve given.
